Enjoy a full-day excursion from Split to Dubrovnik, where you will tour inside the historic city walls and along the limestone streets of the Old Town. Your journey begins with a comfortable motorway drive through the Dalmatian hinterland, with one or two short stops along the way for rest and photo opportunities. Upon arrival at the pearl of the Isthmus of Dubrovnik, take an official 60-minute guided tour of the city’s historic monuments. Your guided tour concludes at St Blaise Cathedral, dedicated to the city’s patron saint and protector. Built on the ruins of a 12th-century church, it was destroyed by the 1667 earthquake and later rebuilt in the Baroque style.
You are now free to explore the town at your own pace. Feel free to climb the city walls and walk the full 1.24-mile (2-kilometre) circuit, offering breathtaking views across a sea of terracotta tiles and the boats and cruise liners in the bustling port. Try some authentic Croatian dishes in local taverns, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee in an al fresco café and watch the world go by.
On your way back to Split, we will make a short stop for oyster tasting in Ston, which is renowned for its remarkably well-preserved town walls, historic salt works, and world-famous oysters.
